The Historic Districts Council is seeking candidates for the position of Community Coordinator. The person in this part-time position will work closely with the senior staff to oversee the development of HDC’s Neighborhood Partners (NP) program, a constituency of more than 500 community-based organizations.

Applicant should have experience in community organizing and providing support services to community groups and individuals. Familiarity with government agencies (such as the Department of Housing Preservation and Development; Small Business Services, City Planning and Landmarks Preservation Commission) and programs would be beneficial. Knowledge of New York City geography and history preferred. Applicant must have good communications skills and be comfortable representing HDC to the public. Approximately 15-20 hours a week with a flexible schedule but some evening hours will be required. Hourly pay commensurate with experience.
