Another Historic House in Westerleigh Gone

From the Staten Island Advance

Historic home demolished
A Staten Island home built by the founders of Prohibition Park in the Westerleigh section of the borough and once nominated for landmarking, is being demolished today to make way for new homes. The Landmarks Preservation Commission said the building had been too altered and rejected the landmarking rquest. The home, built in the 1890s, is located on the corner of Jewett and Maine avenues.-
