Peck Slip Plans To be Heard

Dear Friend of the Seaport,

As you know, the design for Peck Slip is undergoing a revision in response to the call of the Community Board for more “greenery” within the historic site.

The landscape firm of Quennell Rothschild and the New York City Department of Parks will unveil their new plan at three key meetings in April. As stakeholders within the South Street Seaport Historic District, please attend to add your thoughtful comments and shape the critical outcome of these official events.

THURSDAY – APRIL 12 – 6:00 P.M. COMMUNITY BOARD 1 – COMBINED LANDMARKS AND SEAPORT/CIVIC CENTER COMMITTEES. Resolution expected.

49-51 Chambers Street, Room 709 BUT check the website www.cb1.org closer to the date as the site may change to accommodate more attendees.

TUESDAY – APRIL 17 – 6:00 P.M. COMMUNITY BOARD 1 MONTHLY MEETING. A full Board vote on the Peck Slip resolution with public comment promptly at 6.

Museum of Jewish Heritage. 36 Battery Place. Battery Park City.

TUESDAY – APRIL 24 – 9:00 A.M. LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION – PUBLIC HEARING. Consult www.nyc.gov for the exact time of the Peck Slip application for approval.

One Centre Street, 9th floor, Conference room.

I hope you will join us for these pivotal discussions about Peck Slip’s rare half-acre on the South Street Seaport waterfront.

Best wishes,

Lee Gruzen, Co-Chair SeaportSpeaks
